The Pagoda Circle, located within the 1,371-acre Forest Park, five miles west of downtown St. Louis, is the site of the park’s original bandstand built in 1876 and replaced in 1925. Pedestrian bridges cross a new waterway that winds around the bandstand and cascades over concrete weirs. The renewal of this area by Oehme, van Sweden & Associates, the centerpiece of their larger involvement with the park, included 27,000 plants, along with a comprehensive program of invasive plant management.
