David Calle
David Calle has over 20 years of personal care and foods experience as an executive with the global consumer products company Unilever. Roles included: CFO of Food Solutions based in the Netherlands selling Lipton, Knorr, and Hellmann鈥檚 brands across 74 countries; and head of strategy for North America covering businesses such as Dove, Axe, and Ben & Jerry鈥檚. While based in London, he developed an expertise in marketing return on investment. Mr. Calle graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with Finance and Engineering degrees where his favorite study spaces were the Furness Library and Warden Garden. After building computer games, he earned his MBA from the MIT Sloan School. Mr. Calle now consults to small to mid-size companies.
While working abroad, he visited historic gardens as a way to connect to local cultures, fascinated by their restorative power. He writes a blog called 鈥渢he good garden鈥 to share garden stories. His aim is to celebrate the people behind them and inspire others to explore designed landscapes. Mr. Calle is restoring an Arts & Crafts garden in Wisconsin, writes a garden column for the Post-Crescent, and is on the Board of Directors of the Land Trust of Northeastern Wisconsin.
