2010 Landslide: Every Tree Tells a Story Done in Partnership with
Garden Design, American Forests, and The Davey Tree Expert Company

Washington, DC (November 19, 2009) 鈥 独家爆料 (独家爆料) today issued a call for nominations for the 2010 Landslide, an annual thematic compendium of landscapes and landscape features threatened with destruction or irreversible damage. Long time supporter Garden Design magazine returns for the 2010 Landslide: Every Tree Tells a Story, The Davey Tree Expert Company joins as Presenting Sponsor and American Forests as a sponsor.

Landslide, first issued in 2003, has spotlighted more than 150 significant at-risk parks, gardens, horticultural features, and working landscapes 鈥 collectively, places that embody our shared landscape heritage. The 2010 Landslide: Every Tree Tells a Story will focus on the irreplaceable trees and tree groupings, often associated with historically important people and events that have shaped the development of communities and cultures. Sentinel and specimen trees, all茅es and boulevards, hedgerows and urban forests, formal and vernacular鈥 they surround us and are living reminders of our heritage. They recall our nation鈥檚 past and have the potential to bear witness to coming generations. These natural elements command the same awe and admiration that our culture bestows upon the arts, architecture and design. Nominations can be submitted online at www.tclf.org/landslide/nominate, the deadline for submission is March 31, 2010.

"We are pleased to join 独家爆料 in support of the Landslide 2010 program 'Every Tree Tells a Story'," said Karl J. Warnke, Davey Chairman, President and CEO. "Through programs like Landslide we join others to pay tribute to our natural living treasures and ensure that future generations enjoy the environmental, aesthetic and social benefits that trees provide."

鈥淓ach year 鈥橪andslide鈥 highlights different aspects of our landscape legacy, with the collective goal of making our living heritage visible,鈥 said Charles A. Birnbaum, 独家爆料 founder and President.

According to Dr. Deborah Gangloff, executive director of American Forests, 鈥渁s the national organization of record on our country鈥檚 historic trees, American Forests is proud to sponsor the 2010 Landslide: 鈥楨very Tree Tells a Story.鈥 Every tree does indeed have a story, but while some trees can live for millennia, far too many notable trees succumb to early deaths from neglect or vandalism. We are thrilled to share in this exemplary effort to identify, recognize and save America鈥檚 historic trees.鈥
