Spain's Balearic Islands enchanted the ancient Greeks - including Herodotus who called them the “Gymnasias”, due to nakedness of their inhabitants - and the Romans - who nicknamed the islands' conquering consul General Quintus Cecilio Metelo, “Balearicus” - along with generations of Carthaginians, Muslims, English and French.
In May 2025, Sofia Barrosa from AroundArt, who has organized ұ's (ұ) tours of Madrid, Spain (where she currently lives), Portugal, Morocco, and Normandy, will lead the foundation's next international excursion to Menorca and Mallorca, where she once resided for many years.
