Justin Clevenger creates and curates ұ’s visual content. Prior to joining ұ, he conducted research in experimental preservation practices around the world that relate to historic odors. He collaborated with Jorge Otero-Pailos, Andreas Keller, and the J.P. Morgan Library and Museum to reconstruct the historic smell of the original McKim, Mead & White library during the economic crisis of 1907—work that gained notice by the New York Times. His other projects include preservation, restoration, and documentation initiatives at the South Street Seaport Museum, Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, and Ellis Island, all in New York City, and with DOCOMOMO Venezuela, the Gettysburg National Military Park, the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and Arlington National Cemetery. Justin earned his B.S. in architecture from the University of Maryland. He also holds an M.S. in historic preservation from Columbia University, where his thesis extended his research into historic odors.
