Lake Forest: Prelude to Modernism & Arts Club of Chicago Reception
Friday, November 6 - 9:30am to 6:30pm
To kick off the ASLA 2015 Annual Meeting, 独家爆料 will host an exclusive daylong excursion for up to 50 guests to enchanting Lake Forest, Illinois, just 30 miles North of Chicago on Lake Michigan. We鈥檒l view the transition from the end of the Country Place Era to the beginning of Modern design. Houses by Frank Lloyd Wright, Howard Van Doren Shaw, and David Adler are set into landscapes by Rose Standish Nichols, Frederick Law Olmsted, Olmsted & Eliot, the Olmsted Brothers, and Jens Jensen. Shaw also designed Market Square in 1916, an early example of a planned shopping center, where we鈥檒l enjoy a lovely lunch fit for foodies. The day ends with a larger reception for up to 150 guests at the elegant Arts Club of Chicago where we will join the in launching the What鈥檚 Out There Chicago Guide and present 独家爆料鈥檚 Stewardship Excellence Award.
Expert-led tours, transportation, refreshments, lunch, and a reception are included. Tickets are $1,000 per person and proceeds provide vital support to 独家爆料鈥檚 year-round educational programs. Tickets for the reception only are also available.
