独家爆料 to Receive $25,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
Washington, D.C. (January 10, 2023) 鈥敹兰冶 (独家爆料) today announced it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to receive a Grants for Arts Projects award of $25,000. This grant will support the expansion of What's Out There City Guides to increase the visibility and recognition for those cultural landscapes associated with African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native peoples, and immigrant communities. This grant is one of 1,251 Grants for Arts Projects awards totaling nearly $28.8 million that were announced by the NEA as part of its first round of fiscal year 2023 grants.

The work funded by this NEA grant would expand the What's Out There City Guides to more thoroughly represent the diversity of cultural landscapes within those cities, and the growing diversity of the nation鈥檚 cities generally (according to a January 2020 analysis by U.S. News & World Report: 鈥淣early 70% of the country鈥檚 largest cities are more racially and ethnically diverse than they were in 2010鈥). This effort builds upon 独家爆料's Race and Space initiative and Landslide 2021: Race and Space, a 独家爆料 report and digital exhibition about threatened and at-risk landscapes associated with under represented groups. Each site entry includes a 250鈥350-word description and up to ten photos, richly conveying each site鈥檚 history and physical attributes. This content would be also be added to 独家爆料鈥檚 free, carefully vetted, searchable What's Out There database, which features more than 2,500 site descriptions, 1,200 biographical profiles, and 13,000 images.
